Hope "Works" in the Community
Lazarus TableThe mission of Lazarus Ministries is to offer unlimited compassion while providing for the unmet needs of Kansas City’s urban core through a volunteer program which allows an opportunity for interpreting service as an expression of faith.
Hope UMC assists Lazarus Table by serving a meal to "sojourners" four times per year. Additionally, there is an opportunity to serve meals at the Women's Shelter in a small group setting. If you are interested in being a part of this amazing service experience please feel free to contact the church office. |
Lone Jack Mule Pack ProgramAt the end of each school week, a backpack of easy to prepare, kid-friendly foods and snacks is sent home with students. There is no need to "qualify" for this program; it is designed to assist any family that needs support. Many families are struggling financially. Currently, more than fifty backpacks per week are sent home with children. Donations are always welcome.
